About West Memphis, AR - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

West Memphis, AR is a suburb of Memphis, TN with a lot to offer to commuters and families looking for a slower pace.  Though it’s suburban, it is convenient to Memphis International Airport and downtown Memphis.  This makes it the best of both world in many ways.  The climate of this part of the world is great for those who love to watch the seasons change as there are 4 distinct seasons.

This is a great place to raise a family.  The surrounding towns and cities are full of great activities for kids.  There are many parks and play areas in nearby Hernando. They provide many opportunities for family fun.  In the area, in general, there are a wide variety of parks and other community facilities. For example,  Collierville  boasts 19 park facilities, not to mention over 500 acres of parkland including TWO spray parks where children and adults alike can enjoy cooling off from the hot summer sun.   However, if you are looking for something more geared toward adults then nearby Millington has what you are looking for at The Old Millington Winery.  It is a small winery and vineyard and they are open for wine tastings as well as tours and it is a great way to spend a warm spring day or a pleasant summer evening.

History is abundant in this part of the world. If you do visit Collierville for the spray parks on a pleasant day then you should definitely spend time in The Historic Main Street, as well.  It is filled with quaint shops and dining opportunities. You should also consider visiting the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis where Martin Luther King, Jr. was shot and killed.  It would be a good way to spend a cold, winter’s day and an educational opportunity for the whole family.  Another important historical site in the city of Memphis is The Chucalissa Indian Village which provides a fascinating view into ancient life.

No trip to the area, of course, would be complete without a trip to Graceland. The former home of Rock and Roll legend Elvis Presley is chock full of local music history and is truly the pride and joy of Memphis, which is a town with an undeniable love for arts and music. In August 2002, the 25th anniversary of “The King’s” death, 40,000 people came to memorialize the rock legend even though it was unseasonably rainy for August, which is typically hot and dry in Memphis.  In short, this is a landmark in the area.
